The Astral Event is a strange phenomenon first observed in the skies of TavernCraft on 13th December 2020. Initially thought to be a freak event, the gradual increase in frequency of meteors streaking across the sky led to further investigations. Currently, little information is known about the sudden appearance of the meteors but an entire piece of unknown land known as The Abyss has been uncovered by their trajectories. The land remains shrouded in dense fog but a next expedition involving public volunteers is being organised to uncover more information.

• 13th December 2020 - An unusually large quantity of meteors were observed streaking across the sky at night.
• 14th December 2020 - The frequency of the meteors were observed to have increased and an expedition team was sent out to investigate.
• 15th December 2020 - Expedition team reported that the meteors were not simply zooming pass earth, they were crashing into a faraway unexplored land.
• 16th December 2020 - Observatory tower was scrambled to be built within a day. A second expedition team was sent further out to mark and map locations.
• 17th December 2020 - Second expedition team returned with merely a handful of survivors wearing a shallow and expressionless face. Attempts to retrieve verbal information wielded little results although photographic evidences are quite a plenty. Observatory tower was released to public with calls for help.
• 19th December 2020 - Files were organised by the Observatory team to be released to public.
• 27th April 2021 - After countless deaths and fruitless attempts at exploring the abyss, a decision was made to seal off the dimension until the world items are reunited for greater power.

• The Abyss is believed to be a place experiencing much more erratic weather events. Medical checkups on survivors revealed strange burns and marks on their bodies which seems to imply a highly toxic environment.
• The caves in The Abyss appear much older, with strange structures never seen before. Inhabitants of the caves also appear slightly mutated and behave very differently. A theory floating around is that these are the results of the toxic environment.
• Meteors seem to disintegrate very fast upon impact. The team only managed to approach a single crater but found scorched footsteps leading away from it. It is believed that if the investigation team had arrived earlier, they would have all met their demise.
