The lore of TavernCraft is extensive and intricately tied to each event on the server - that is, the story below are accompanied by actual server events! The whole lore can be read as one continuous story although individual server events still provide sufficient information for new players. However, to truly appreciate the level of details placed into the lore/events, being familiar with the full story is a must! The lore has been subdivided into chapters for easier reading and relayed from an informational point of view as below:

• On 15th April 2020, the first elite mob was spotted in TavernCraft. Its appearance sent off a panic wave throughout the server as the staff team hastily scrambled an investigation team.
• A month later, on 13th May 2020, the staff team revealed an image taken by one of the investigators:

• The very next day, a second and final image was sent by the same investigator in what was believed to be his last moments:

• At the same time, cracks were also appearing at a huge entrance leading into the sewers:

• Finally, on 16th May 2020, a series of lightning strikes cracked open the already weakened floors at spawn and the staff team rushed to investigate. Silhouettes were reported appearing among the shadows in the sewers and the crack was temporarily sealed up. However, players were urged to prepare themselves for what may lie beneath…
• On 17th May 2020, a second wave of lightning strikes permanently opened up the cracks leading into the sewers, Originally thought to be all dead, the staff team received scrambled transmissions from what seemed to be survivor(s) among the investigating team. Although the transmission was incomplete, words such as sacrifice, experiments and summonings were deciphered, hinting at the severity of the sewers incident. Players were dispatched into the sewers to rescue the surviving investigator(s) who are important for recovering as much information as possible:

• 3 days later, on 20th May 2020, the sole surviving investigator was rescued, although in an obvious state of shock and confusion. However, an intense discussion broke out in the community due to the countless lives sacrificed to save the investigator… Some say he is a victim… Some say he is helping them… And some say he is part of them…
• Given the divide in opinions, the staff team conducted a poll to keep or kill the investigator. The vote turned up to be 8 against 27, with a strong majority voting to kill off the investigator. The execution was carried out the very same day, and the investigator creepily maintained an unusually wide grin at whoever came up to him and refused to say a word no matter what was asked of him. It is everyone's belief that his mind is no longer his own and that an evil entity has taken control within:

• Nearly a week later, with the mobs severely weakened after days of persecution from persistent players, the staff team led a concerted attack deep into the sewers to eradicate the mobs once and for all. It is in this raid that a hidden room containing world item 1 was discovered.
• La Shik' Va was summoned upon the removal of the world item and the staff team pulled a hasty retreat.
• Several staffs were sacrificed and an accidental powerful lightning spell from La Shik' Va struck the entrance to the sewers, permanently cutting off his pursuit of us.

• Having learned that world items were not just items belonging in the myths, the staff team chartered the direction to recover all 8 world items, with a plan to put them together to unleash a power so great that could overcome La Shik' Va.
• 3 days after escaping the sewers, the spirit of the investigator was summoned to wreck havoc in our world. Fuelling the spirit was its desire for vengeance over its execution:

• The spirit of the investigator was exceptionally powerful as it was equipped with the second world item, the Book of Ancients & Origins. Upon its defeat, this priced item came into the staff team's possession alongside the first world item, the Downfall of Castles and Dragons.
• The staff team also commenced the search for the third world item which was rumoured to involve a trip through a forbidden forest:

• Two weeks later, search for the forbidden forest continues to turn up empty. However, the 4th and 5th world items were found to be obtained through a summoning procession involving world eater entities. Through deciphering historical text, summoning and killing these entitles would reveal the 4th and 5th world items.
• On 16th June 2020, after a long drawn out fight, the last world eater was sent back to the gallows and world items 4 & 5 were recovered. Much to the surprise of everyone present, the death of the world eaters was swiftly accompanied by an onslaught of inexplicable void creatures who exploded into existence, Everyone fought tooth and nail through the swarm of voidlings, winning a seemingly hopeless battle.
• However, another surprise shook everyone with the emergence of the 6th world item. Although suspicious of its authenticity as it was never mentioned in the historical text, it indeed possesses legendary tier powers.

• As the search for the remaining world items continue, a mysterious dungeon surfaced on 12th July 2020, prompting yet another round of exploration by the staff team and players alike. Unlike the sewers, the mobs here never dwindled in numbers and seemed to have an endless spawn:

• Seeing no end in sight, an all out attack was launched on 15th July 2020, going deep into the dungeon where the source of the endless stream of mobs was revealed to be world item 7, the orb of creation. After pulling off some trickeries to fool the guardian of the item, the orb of creation was successfully recovered, leaving only the last 2 pieces of world items to be collected.
• On 24th July 2020, the staff team revealed that investigations highly suggest that La Shik' Va is to be responsible for the emergence of the new mysterious dungeon. On the very same day, a raid boss appeared in our world…

• On 20th August 2020, the 14th and also the last raid boss was defeated, revealing world item 8, Nameless Anvil of Forging. Focus returned to the search for the rumoured forest that contains world item 3.
• On 31st August 2020, La Shik' Va launched a surprised attack on our spawn, leaving it in complete shambles. Despite putting up a great fight, survivors were made to sail away and seek out a new place to call home. The 7 world items, although safe, were also partially corrupted in the fierce battle back in spawn.

• On 17th December 2020, 3 months after settling in our new home, an abnormally large amount of what seemed like stars streaked across the sky at night. A staff team was dispatched to investigate this anomaly, with findings serious enough to warrant an entire observatory tower scrambled to be built within a day:

• The very next day, it was revealed that the streaking stars were in fact meteors of varying sizes. Survivors of the expedition were also visibly shocked and unable to return to normalcy.
• On 19th December 2020, the staff team once again reached out to seek help from the players in preparing to send a third expedition into the Abyss:

• On 27th April 2021, after 4 months of fruitless attempts at recovering information about the abyss, the staff team called off all future expeditions and sealed the entrance to the abyss for good.
• Focus was returned to repairing the world items and seeking out its last piece in order to wield an unrivalled world power.

• On 19th May 2021, the initial report for what is believed to be a buried city in a desert was made. The very next day, claims of the buried city being uncovered by a fierce desert storm was verified by a group of explorers. Images below are taken while the explorers remained close to their ship:

• On 21st May 2021, players gathered and rushed into the ancient city, fending off the countless mobs present. Motivated by the many unique and precious loots dropped by the mobs, the players fought valiantly and faced down what appears to be a pharaoh residing within the pyramid. However, rare paper scraps retrieved from killed scribes seem to refer to another pharaoh…
• A week after venturing into Oasis, a series of strange quakes revealed a crack within one of the walls in the Pharaoh's room. Although convinced that a secret room lay beyond, no one dared to chip away at the crack for fear of compromising the structural integrity of the pyramid:
